Sengoku No Bushido is a living history group dedicated to authentically exploring, researching, and recreating the world of late 16th-century Japan, with a specific focus on the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1599–1600 C.E.). Through detailed, documentation-based displays, we aim to go beyond myth and legend—seeking the truth of the era through careful study, craftsmanship, and immersive public education.
Our primary display is of a military nature, centering around a fictional Takayama military retinue that parted ways with the main Takayama family due to the shifting allegiances of their lord, Fukushima Masanori. Though not directly recorded in historical documents, this narrative reflects the reality of a time when civil war not only pitted clans against each other, but fractured families and loyalties alike.
We are a passionate community of historians, craftspeople, martial artists, and reenactors who strive to bring research to life—whether through armour, cuisine, art, or performance. Our displays are grounded in authenticity and built to educate and inspire. Most importantly, we aim to offer an enriching and welcoming experience for both members and audiences.
If you’re enthusiastic about Japanese history, martial culture, craftsmanship, or traditional arts, we’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re an experienced historical interpreter or just beginning your journey, there’s a place for you in our growing retinue.
